The World of Health IT 2007 Conference & Exhibition

The World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition next month promises to offer even more than its inaugural meeting in 2006.  Organised by ten key actors within the international healthcare IT community, the event established itself as an agora for all professional disciplines committed to moving the vision of seamless interoperable healthcare delivery to reality.

WHIT '07, which will be held in the Austria Centre, Vienna, from 22-25 October, is keen to achieve consensus within the eHealth community and has developed a series of group packages for delegates from all sections of the community to facilitate this.

In the featured articles below, Tony Mallett previews the WHIT ’07 Conference & Exhibition and discusses the background to the interoperability challenge faced by everyone in European eHealth.

Health IT – Europe looks to Vienna

Last autumn’s World of Health IT (WHIT) conference in Geneva drew around 2,000 attendees and organisers expect this year’s event, taking place in Vienna from 22-25 October, to be even bigger.

Interoperability in eHealth – facing the challenge

With Europe expected to spend 5% of its entire health budget on healthcare IT, it’s not surprising that the European Commission, has declared there is a rapid need ‘to consider the requirements of eHealth interoperability’.
